Worst Blogger. Ever.

Apparently, that title is mine. Hooray! I win the prize for sucking the most! :) I am here to relinquish that title and maybe someone else would like to claim it? Takers? Anyone?

My life for the last few weeks has been THRILLING to say the least.

First, I went to Boise to iron out a few things for next year. I am officially going to Boise State, so COME VISIT. :) Especially if you go to a school that is a rival in the WAC... ahem...cough...ahemmmmmm.
Here are my cousin Travis and I are bowling in Boise. It was intense and I was grately dissappointed.

Travis made a decision Sunday night before I left to return with me to Ogden and spend two nights with me. We went to classes, went to work and he and I drove down to SLC and visited the Gateway where we bought a few things and saw Prom Night. We both really liked it and it is one that I would probably see again. I'm kind of into the creepy, non-happy movies. If you are too, then you'll definitely enjoy this.
We decided on the way out of SLC that we'd find East High the home of the infamous High School Musical! Our friend, Kaitlin is a huge fan and we thought sending her pictures would be a nice gesture.

Here we are:

We did feel pretty cool and important after this trip.
YES. Loved it

Immediately after Travis' visit, Mom came to town. Wooooh! Cheers! Clapping! Chants! Throwing of small children! Hoooraay! She stayed for a few nights and had a chance to come to The Ogden LDS Institute's Spring Show, This is a Great Country! We had three great performances and I'll have to be honest and say that this is the thing I will miss the most about school here at the Weebs.

Right after the show ended, Mom and I drove to American Fork to meet the newest member of our family, Fallon Reese Davis. She's basically adorable and we love her to pieces already!

Four days later, Dad flew in, I drove down to pick him and my mom up at Jamie's and the three of us, and my grandparents drove down to Provo for Jeff and Stacey's graduation at BYU. They are both Masters now. Give them the praise they deserve.

Jacob was enthralled at the ceremony.
She's so important right now...I can't even take my eyes off of her.
We went to Maddox with the McKoy family, but I'm not allowed to blog about it. So it won't. I will just say, it was fun. But nothing else because...others have already done so. :)

Finally, I graduated from Institute. Yes. I did in two years what a normal person does in three or or four. The graduation exercises were held at the Ogden Tabernacle and I was one of two people from my ward to receive a diploma. It was a lot of fun and the meeting was great. I'm grateful for the things I've learned the last two years!

I will spend the next 48 hours in Ogden and then Thursday morning I pull out to drive across the country with my roommate. I am CERTAIN I will have plenty to blog about along the way as we rest in hotels. I will no longer been known as the Worst Blogger.

What I Miss.

So, there are phases of our lives that come and go. People in our lives that come and go. And for whatever reason, lately I have been thinking about one of those things in particular. I played basketball from third grade through freshman year of high school and while I wasn't ever the best player by ANY means, I loved it and still do love it.
Over Christmas break I took home my basketball shoes and left them there because I haven't used them at all out here at school the last two years. I likewise took my basketball to my grandparent's house for storage for the summer last weekend. Ever since losing those two items, OF COURSE all I want to do is play basketball.
Every tuesday and thursday I go to aerobics class and a make (what I feel) is a mockery out of the basketball court; doing said aerobics. I see the students and faculty on the other side of the drop down divider and am entirely envious of what they are doing. They aren't doing synchronized dance moves to ridiculous music and making fools of themselves. They are doing just the opposite. They are playing a full court game of basketball, or they are simply shooting around. Watching them and hearing them, makes me a little sad but mostly I just miss it.

Finally, I was thinking about people who influenced me when I played basketball. And amazingly enough, while my mind did pass by some of my coaches, I mostly thought of one person who played with me a few times over the years, came to one of my games in middle school, but taught me something that I will never forget (which I will share later :) ) I remember when she came to my game in 8th grade, one of the girls on my team leaned over to me and said, "Erin, is that your sister?" I said no but, she reminded me of my own sisters, treated me as my sisters treat me (which is good by the way, especially for being a little bit younger :) ) and if I had a third older sister, I wouldn't mind if it were her...she was always fun and clearly is someone I have been grateful for over the years of my life. So, I doubt if she reads this but if you know who you are, thank you for everything!

Here is what she taught me amoung other things:
  • Grunt when you shoot the ball (I'm still thinking that is the most embarassing thing ever...haha)
  • Make eyes at the girl who is shooting fouls shots (Wait, this might be more embarassing :))
AND the thing I think about everytime I play:

  • When shooting from this side angle, with no oppertunity to use the backboard, aim at the opposite rim and more times than not, it will in fact go in.
